4 Things You Need To Know About Matt Long, The New Guy On 'Mad Men'

Last Sunday while watching the Season 4 premiere of Mad Men, we found ourselves wondering, who was that cutie playing new creative and Peggy’s number two Joey at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce? It took some digging and wracking of our brains to discover the actor was Matt Long, a 30-year-old actor who has been working in the biz in various parts since 2004 (the Mad Men part is so new it’s not even on his IMDb page yet). Right now, he may be that guy who makes you wonder, “How do I know him??” but after a role on Mad Men, you won’t be able to forget his name. So, it’s time to get to know him better. Here’s five things you need to know about Matt:

1. How you know him
Matt got his start in 2004 on the underrated CW show Jack & Bobby. Matt starred as Jack, one of two McCallister brothers, one of which was going to be president in the future. The show only lasted one season, but was a great jumping off point not only for Matt but for his on-screen brother. You might recognize his name: Logan Lerman.

2. How you know him if you didn’t watch Jack & Bobby
This spring, Matt starred as the lead character in the ABC mid-season replacement show The Deep End, which followed four first year associates at a big Los Angeles law firm. Matt was among an impressive roster of young actors, including True Blood’s Mehcad Brooks, Leah Pipes and Tina Majorino, not to mention Billy Zane, who played their boss. The show wasn’t picked up for a second season.

3. Missed The Deep End, too?
Matt also starred in the Amanda Bynes movie Sydney White and Ghost Rider as a young Johnny Blaze. He was also in Homecoming with Mischa Barton.

4. He’s married
Sorry girls, Matt’s married to college sweetheart Lora Chaffins, who he met at Western Kentucky University and married in 2005.
