MTV News is making the case that Neil Patrick Harris should replace Simon Cowell next season after he departs from American Idol.
The star on the CBS show How I Met Your Mother is no stranger to a little singing and dancing and apparently gave a stellar performance as an Idol guest judge on Wednesday night's show.
"He was unafraid to shatter dreams or snicker at particularly awful wannabes. He offered advice -- even faint praise -- when the situation warranted it, he mastered the art of making the "wowed" face when a particularly great voice caught his fancy," the review gushes.
But it looks as though a lot of people are vying for the V-necked one's job: Perez Hilton pleaded to MTV News that he wants to be Cowell's replacement. While Perez could probably dish it out sassier than Harris (pictured catching a flight to Las Vegas in November from Burbank Airport with boyfriend David Burtka), I'm not sure "That was downright shiteous!" is the right touch.
